web site | may 14, 2009

Some time between when you picked up that business card or you got my contact information from a friend, I graduated from blogger to Web master. That is--I have an official, real Web site now. (I can hear the applause in the background.) :)

You can find all the information you need and more on my new site.
Just follow the yellow-brick road!

henry, maude & sky | april 23, 2009

I had such a blast with this canine trio! Henry is a 13-year-old Jack Russell who, despite recent knee surgery, quickly adapted to stardom. He loved posing for the pictures! Maude, on the other hand, was camera shy. The 8-year-old Yellow Labrador was less than sure she wanted her picture taken and often walked or looked away when I lifted my lens in her direction. She was a good sport, though. After all, she hates baths, and we put her in the bathtub (with the promise of staying dry). The smallest, but definitely not least, of the troupe was Sky, a Beagle mix who would probably stand on her head for a treat if you asked her to. She also begs for entertainment--the most effective way to get her ears to perk was to belt out our best goat imitation. Hey...whatever it takes. :)

abner & edely | april 2, 2009

Before the rains came in, I did a short session with Edely and her boyfriend, Abner. The trains of the famous Chattanooga Choo Choo were perfect for colorful and character-rich backgrounds. Of course, the best part is the cute couple in the foreground.

Our fears came to fruition: It rained. We gave up waiting it out and decided to release the shutter, rain or shine. By the time we were done, I was soaked and my camera had gotten a not-so-needed bath. But in spite of the proverbial rain-on-my-parade ambiance, we had plenty of fun with the shoot! Thanks, Edely, for being such a good sport and working with the mid-session hair change (she went from blown-out straight to wet and wavy.) :)

caribbean cruise| march 2009

Our cruise docked in the ports of Grand Turk, Puerto Rico, St. Thomas and Half Moon Cay, Bahamas. Caribbean islands are known for their idyllic beaches and cerulean waters, a reputation they keep well. San Juan, Puerto Rico, additionally offers quant, blue-brick streets reminiscent of Europe (no surprise, given their Spanish lineage), while St. Thomas was the snapshot of a northern European city relocated to a mountain island. (Again, little wonder here: The U.S. purchased it from the Danes in 1917.)

By the end of the trip, my family (along with the other 2,101 guests and 925 crew members) covered 2,020 nautical miles (2,323 miles).

Until next time, bon voyage!
